Somali voters – Canada Election, count and cast your vote and voice!

Toronto | QOL | October 21, 2019

Bismilah Dear voters,

I would love to remind you to carry out your rights by voting this election year and to take advantage of your voting privilege in the Canadian and American elections. Conserve your rights by voting.

Here in the west, your vote is considered an insurance policy. You insure your life by buying an insurance policy. So you vote. People usually secure their lives when they buy health insurance, home insurers, and car insurance. They buy all these insurances to protect their lives in case any problems manifest immediately or later in life.

With your vote, you get insured with the best education, better homes. (weather if it’s affordable housing programs or if it’s programs to help with your mortgages). Your vote can lead to better employment. As Somali Canadians or Americans, we have taken voting and voting privileges very lightly or have negotiated it all together.

We are in the insurance of Allah all mighty

is my favorite phrase when people use it with me, but this is a very neglectful statement.

Which leads to hopelessness, recklessness, and many other painful consequences. The repercussions of not voting are evident in the Somali community in Canada and the US. Through poverty, education, and employment. Practice your rights vote this election year.

Decide which candidate is suitable for you, and your community.

If you don’t know who to vote for get together with your friends. Hold a discussion night. Examine all the possible candidates.
